About
A Turkish Kitchen on the Water
Karaf by Bahçe is an authentic Turkish restaurant in Dubai, on the beachfront at Club Vista Mare, Palm Jumeirah, serving charcoal-grilled kebabs, hot and cold mezze, stone-baked pide and traditional Turkish desserts.
Three things define the kitchen
A charcoal grill for the kebabs. A stone oven for lahmacun and pide, opened to order. And a cold kitchen turning out mezze from scratch each morning. Everything else follows from those three.
It is the way a grill house in Türkiye is set up, and it is deliberately unglamorous: no shortcuts that save time at the cost of the food.
Why the location matters
Club Vista Mare sits at the entrance to Palm Jumeirah, on the western side of the trunk. The terrace faces open water with the Dubai skyline behind it, which makes the restaurant as suited to a long lunch as to dinner and rakı after sunset.
Practically, it also means you reach us without driving the length of the island, which anyone who has done the crescent run at dinner time will appreciate.
How a meal here tends to go
The mezze arrive first and stay on the table. Hot mezze follow. The grill comes after that, and if there are four of you it is worth ordering a metre of Adana or Urfa and sharing it. Dessert is künefe or kadayıf, and Turkish coffee after.
None of this is quick, which is the point. A Turkish table is meant to take the evening.
